After seeing Jonny at a soccer event, where he was incredibly kind and encouraging, I decided to reach out to him. I was looking for someone skilled in working with women because, to put it simply, women are NOT small men. We have different bodies and hormones that change throughout the month that are never addressed when working out. Additionally, we go through various life stages, so I wanted a trainer who understood perimenopause and menopause or at least someone willing to research with me on building and maintaining muscle as females. Jonny was an amazing active listener and was fully on board with growing his already massive knowledge about weight training & physical fitness.
Before we started working together, I had been working out in my garage using videos for over a year. Despite putting in the effort of six days a week, I noticed very little change. After that year ended, I underwent a total hysterectomy, which laid me out for a very long time. I was really nervous about starting to work out on my own again, not wanting to hurt myself and being bummed about the lack of progress I made.
Now that Jonny and I have been working together for over six months, and I’ve noticed significant muscle growth. It’s crazy because we only workout 3 days a week! He helped be narrow down the amount of protein I should have to see muscle growth and it’s totally working! It’s sort of mind blowing! I have so much further to go but I’m ready for it!
We continue to support each other in understanding the female body and finding the most effective methods for building a strong, healthy mind & body. Training with Jonny at Peak Fitness Lab has been a great experience. I do both personal training and group classes, and both are intentional and effective in their own way.
Jonny takes the time to understand your body and how to push you safely and effectively. He tailors programs to meet my specific goals, and even in group classes he’s paying attention and making sure I’m getting what I need out of the workout. That kind of care is rare.

I’ve been working with Jonny since August and I truly can’t say enough good things. He is incredibly knowledgeable and always explains the “why” behind what we’re doing, which I really appreciate. I have a bad back, and he’s been amazing at modifying workouts so I can still make progress without aggravating it. He knows exactly how to push me just the right amount, enough to grow, but never to the point of feeling discouraged or unsafe. I’ve been training with Jonny for the past 6 months, and the transformation I’ve seen both in how I look and how I feel has been incredible.
Before working with him, I was following my own workout routine based on YouTube research. I was definitely getting stronger, but my chronic injuries from a car accident (shoulder) and a wakeboarding fall (knee) were getting worse the more I pushed myself. My shoulder would ache at night, and I had started to avoid certain activities and movements altogether to protect my knee.
Jonny completely changed that. He took the time to understand my history and built a targeted, evolving program focused on strengthening not just the big muscles, but all the supporting ones that were being neglected. Over time, he’s helped me eliminate my shoulder pain and rebuild trust in my knee I can now confidently get back to the high impact activities that I love like snowboarding, wakeboarding, running, hiking, etc!
